How does it play

Rich Wilde and the Tome of Madness is a 5×5 slot that is built around tumble wins with many features to unleash additional wild features. Your goal when playing the slot is to connect as many symbols as possible in successive wins on the same spin. This will increase the count in the meter in the top left of the slot which triggers additional special features described below.

The slot can be played with manual spins using the spin button or your space bar. Tome of Madness also features a quick spin option and auto spins.

In the base game you will notice that one of the squares has a purple outline. This is an eye mark and if you land a win that includes the eye mark square two special wild book symbols will be randomly added to the slot.

The Rich Wilde symbol also acts a wild symbol which increases your connecting wins by 2x.

Other World Free Round Bonus Feature

The main aim of the slot and the way to unlock the other world free round feature is to connect multiple tumble wins on the same spin. These will increase the count in the top left of the main slot screen. As you fill each quarter you unlock special features.

Filling the first quarter will trigger two special book wilds to be dropped randomly onto the slot reels.

Filling up half of the meter will grant you an Abyss special feature. This will add two special book wilds to the slot. However, if you manage to connect a win with one of these wilds they will also trigger the Abyss feature. It is possible to trigger two Abyss features by connecting with both wilds. The Abyss feature will randomly clear the whole row or column that the wild book symbol is on allowing new symbols to drop in for more connections.

Filling up three quarters of the meter will trigger two special wild book symbols that have the potential to trigger the Void special feature. Again you need to connect with the wilds and if you do a random symbol will be picked from the slot screen and all matching symbols will be removed allowing new symbols to drop in for further connections.

Other World Free Round

Finally, by filling the meter all of the way with winning connections totalling 42 symbols you will unlock the Other World Free Round. You will start with a minimum of 5 portal effects but for each 3 additional symbols you win with beyond 42 you will unlock another portal effect up to a total of 7.

Once you are in the free round you will notice in the bottom left you now have a map of the slot screen showing and more eye mark symbols on the main slot screen. Your goal here is to complete connections that include all of the visible eye mark symbols.

To help you achieve this every time you fail to make a connection a new portal effect will be triggered. Each of these will drop in 4 special wild book symbols. These have the chance to be standard wilds or to trigger Abyss or Void effects when they are connected with.

Should you completely fill all of the eye mark squares you will trigger the Cthulhu mega wild symbol. This will drop in from the top of the slot and make its way down the slot. The Cthulhu is a 4×4 symbol so it is guaranteed connections every spin. The feature will end once the Cthulhu reaches the bottom of the slot.

The Bonus Buy

Unfortunately, Tome of Madness does not feature a bonus buy option.

The best symbol for Rich Wilde and the Tome of Madness is the Cthulhu purple necklace. This offers a payout of 100x your bet for a connection of 10 or more in a cluster. The paytable below is based on a base game bet of $0.10.

Your best chance to win big in Tome of Madness is with the Cthulhu mega wild connecting a big cluster with one of the top paying symbols. It is quite rare to see a really big win on this slot but it is most likely if you can connect a Rich Wilde 2x multiplier wild with your Cthulhu wild, this will give you at least a 6x symbol win with any other symbols you connect with.
